Despite the slowdown in the global smartphone market, prominent companies such as Apple and Samsung have sold millions of handsets around the world. As a surprise, Apple surpassed Samsung for the first time to become the top smartphone manufacturer last year. According to Canalys, a research group, 7 of the top 10 shipping cell phones worldwide were Apple handsets, with Samsung accounting for three. No other brands were included on the list.
Top 10 Best Selling Smartphones In 2023:
As per the Canalys report, the iPhone 14 Pro Max was the best-selling smartphone all across the globe with 34 million units shipped. The iPhone 15 Pro Max, which launched in September is the second highest-selling smartphone with 33 million units shipped. The third spot also belongs to Apple's iPhone 14 with 29 million shipments. The iPhone 14 Pro along with iPhone 13 gets 29 and 23 million shipments in the year 2023. It means the top 5 best-selling smartphones in the world are from Apple.
Further, the iPhone 15 Pro was seventh on the list with 21 million units shipped. The vanilla trim of the iPhone 15 series was at the tenth spot with 17 million shipments. Interestingly, the iPhone 14 Plus and iPhone 15 Plus are missing from the Top 10 list.
Regarding Samsung, the Galaxy S series did not appear in the top 10. There were just three Galaxy A series phones on the list. With 21 million sales, the Galaxy A14 4G is included in sixth place. The Galaxy A54 5G and Galaxy A14 5G, which ranked eighth and ninth, respectively, were the other two.
Brands like Xiaomi, OnePlus, Oppo, Vivo and others were missing from the top 10 best-selling smartphones. However, it is expected that these brands will see a rise in shipments and sales in this year.
