Google announced the acquisition of the math solver app Photomath in 2022. And the company has now added the app to its Play Store developer label. According to the description on the app market, Photomath is the "world's smartest camera calculator and math assistant". Users can scan any math problem for step-by-step explanations and accurate answers.

According to Photomath, a majority of these solutions are prepared using "teacher-approved methods". It can serve users ranging from primary school to advanced calculus level. Be it word problems or handwritten notes, users can just enter the image to start getting results. While breaking down the answer in steps, the app goes the extra mile to help learners understand the process using the Animated Steps.

Users can download the app and get the basic step-by-step explanations at "no charge". "Photomath's educational content is centered around the learner's experience, driven by the expertise of our own team of mathematicians and former math teachers," the description of the app noted. Apart from this, the Photomath Plus app can help users with "custom Animated Tutorials, detailed Textbook Solutions and more".

Apart from step-by-step explanations, the key features of the app include word problem instructions, multiple methods to one solution, an advanced scientific calculator, interactive graphs, video solutions and more. It can cater to problems of varying needs, such as Elementary Math, Numbers and Quantity, Algebra, Functions, Trigonometry and Angles, Sequences, Geometry, Statistics, and Calculus.

The basic version only offers step-by-step explanations. On the other hand, the paid offerings billed at $69.99 annually or $9.99 monthly come with added benefits. These also come with custom visual aids, extra tips for enhanced learning and deeper solutions from textbooks. According to Photomath's website, it is only supported on smartphones and tablets and is available on Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
