Apple earlier confirmed (in 2023) the arrival of Rich Communications Services (RCS) for iPhones this year. Thanks to Google, we now have a precise timeline to guess when the company will allow RCS support. In a landing page spotted by 9To5Google, the tech giant stated that Apple will adopt "RCS in the fall of 2024". While the concerned media now stands deleted, this gives clear hints at the anticipated release timeline on Apple devices.

According to the report, the section defined the benefits such as high-quality video and image transfer, typing indicators and an improved chat experience for groups. "Apple has announced it will be adopting RCS in the fall of 2024. Once that happens, it will mean a better messaging experience for everyone," the description on the website read.

Meanwhile, Apple earlier announced RCS support in November 2023 and provided a vague "later next year" timeline. Apple fans speculated a debut alongside the iOS 18. Google's recent revelation hints this might prove correct. However, it is not confirmed whether RCS will arrive with the first version or debut later on the upcoming iOS.

As per the screenshot shared in the report, animated emoji reactions are expected to arrive on RCS soon. It also noted that Screen Effects and Custom Bubbles are "currently in beta". Moreover, Voice Moods has started rolling out to users in the beta program. The company also highlighted Photomoji, end-to-end encryption, spam protection, Magic Compose, voice transcription and more.

Speaking of iOS 18, the tech giant will likely introduce the new iPhone update in June at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) and may roll out the stable build in September 2024. MacRumors speculate RCS support may arrive for iPhones with iOS 18.1 in October 2024. Among other features, Read receipts, Wi-Fi messaging and more are also expected. While these features are available on iMessage and apps like WhatsApp and more, RCS will extend these modern features to green bubbles on the Messages app.
