Users of Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome will soon be able to "save the frame," taking screenshots of YouTube videos in PNG format and at their original resolution. This capability comes after the YouTube "copy video frame" option was added recently. It's said that Google has included the "save frame" feature, which lets users save individual frames from YouTube films without sacrificing the original quality. The Microsoft Edge Canary build also offers these features.

Leopeva64, a Chrome specialist, posted on X, "The new option to SAVE frames from YouTube videos already works in Edge Canary, Chrome developers added this new entry a few days ago."

Recent Chrome releases have made this combination possible, giving users the ease of precisely recording video frames in PNG format. Additionally, in order to give a more comprehensive user experience, Chrome developers are working on adding another feature that would allow users to "Search video frames with (a specified search provider)."

Meanwhile, YouTube is developing a new artificial intelligence chatbot in parallel that will allow users to ask questions about the videos they're viewing, receive recommendations for similar content, and more without interfering with the playback process. Through the seamless provision of relevant data during the YouTube viewing experience, this conversational AI technology seeks to improve user engagement.
