Pixel 8a Rumours: Google has announced that it will host the Google I/O 2024 event on May 14. The company is expected to announce the Pixel 8a at the event alongside a range of AI updates. Soon after the leaks around the price, update policy and more, a detailed product listing was shared by tipster Evan Blass on X (formerly called Twitter).
According to the poster shared by Blass, the phone could debut with a range of AI features, seven years of Feature Drops and Security Updates. Many of these features will cater to photo editing. Plus, it may also get Gemini-powered AI capabilities. Apart from the software magic, the handset may offer an IP67 rating and Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
Coming to the design, the phone may have a matte finish on the rear. Based on the images shared by the tipster, the 8a may support wireless charging and allow charging via a 30W USB Type-C charger. Google could highlight the use of recycled materials in its product page. The tech giant could also offer a six-month Fitbit Premium subscription with the phone.

For images, it could offer Best Take, Night Sight, Audio Magic Eraser and Magic Eraser among other AI-powered features like the flagship 8 series smartphones. The camera may also get Real Tone and Night mode. Meanwhile, the rumour mill has also leaked the price and key specifications of the phone in the past.
Based on the rumours, the smartphone could have a 6.1-inch FHD+ OLED 120Hz screen with 1,400nits peak brightness. Under the hood, the handset may sport a Tensor G3 with Titan M2 security coprocessor. It will likely run on Android 14. Speaking of the cameras, the smartphone could have a 64MP primary + 13MP ultrawide rear cameras.
On the front, the phone may sport a 13MP selfie shooter. Considering the leaks in the past, the Pixel 8a will likely sit in the sub-Rs 45,000 price bracket. At that price point, it will act as a direct rival to the OnePlus 12R, Samsung Galaxy A55 and more phones.
