ALPHABET-owned Google, a California-based technology company, experienced a brief outage in the United States search engines. According to Reuters, users experienced disruptions while accessing some search results and were limited to the American regions.

Over 22,000 users have reported experiencing problems using the search engine, according to Downdetector, a website that tracks outages. The services have since been restored, and the outage was only temporary.

"There was a very brief issue affecting the availability of results for some searches, which was limited to the Americas region, and it was quickly addressed," the spokesperson wrote in an email to Reuters.

According to data from Downdetector, about 87% of affected users had complained about problems with Google Search. The number of outage reports decreased to 324 as of 10:21 p.m. ET (02:21 GMT), Reuters further reported.

In the meantime, WhatsApp reportedly experienced issues, including bugs that restricted users from downloading videos or updating their status. The Downdetector reports that the problems started at 4 PM on April 17 and persisted for the following two days, during which time a sizable number of users addressed the issues.

The graph of Downdetector shows that over 46 percent of users faced difficulties with the server connection, 38 percent issued a problem with the application and around 16 percent were not able to send messages through the application. The issue seems to be resolved now.

However, this is not the first time the platform witnessed such bugs or server meltdowns. The company has been a target for outages and server meltdowns for a while now.

Platforms like Netflix, Twitter, and Instagram have become more prone to outages and have consistently become a target for outages.
