Google's Workspace apps are used widely because of their easy usability and feature-packed experience. The company brings new enhancements to these apps with the aim to upscale the experience and add more users. In this series, the company has now introduced a spam label in SMS messages and more new updates.
Let's understand each of them in detail.
Suspected Spam Label In SMS Messages
Google Voice offers a 'suspected spam caller' label that marks calls as spam. The company has now announced that a similar feature will be available in SMS messages on platforms including Android and iOS. These labels will appear next to a message. Users can confirm a suspected spam that will send future messages from these numbers directly to the spam directory.
Secondly, users can also mark a message as not spam so that the label is not displayed in future messages. In the screengrab shared in the blog post, a 'Suspected spam' label is visible with a red exclamation icon next to the message. It is available in "Voice Starter, Standard, and Premier" users and personal accounts in the US. The feature visibility may take over 15 days.

In the same release note, the company also introduced birthday decorations on the profile photo across Workspace products and Google Contacts. This will stir into action when a user hovers over a people card. The new animation (with balloons and more stuff) will appear if users have added their birthday date and made it public for others to see. This feature will be available to all Workspace and personal accounts.
Links in the Sheets app on iOS
The company also said it is adding the functionality to insert active links in a cell within Google Sheets on the iOS app. You can use the feature via the '+' icon at the top right and tapping on 'Link' from the 'Insert' menu. Users can add text to display in the cell and then add the hyperlink. This will be available to all Workspace and personal accounts.
