How will smartphones and tablets become cheaper?
To strongly promote Make in India, the government has announced several key measures related to electronic manufacturing. Because of this, the prices of smartphones and tablets manufactured in India may come down.
Production of smartphones and tablets in Indian factories is also expected to rise. With stronger domestic manufacturing, consumers are likely to get devices at more affordable prices.
Foreign companies will also benefit from expanding their production in India. This move will not only help Indian buyers get expensive gadgets at lower prices but will also support the country’s goal of becoming a major electronics manufacturing hub.

Reliance on lithium-ion battery components
In the budget, the government has announced import duty relief on several components used in the manufacturing of lithium-ion batteries. This is expected to reduce battery costs.
