Cupertino-based tech giant Apple announced the new iPad Pro and iPad Air in May 2024. It seems the company could now be gearing up for the launch of more iPads this year. As per code references uncovered by Nicolás Álvarez and shared on X (formerly called Twitter) by MacRumors contributor Aaron Perris (@aaronp613), Apple could be gearing up to launch two new iPads this fall, likely next to the iPhone 16 series.

According to Macworld, the backend code references - 'iPad15,7', 'iPad15,8', 'iPad16,1' and 'iPad16,2' could hint at the upcoming launches of the iPad 11th generation (Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + cellular) and iPad mini 7 (Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + cellular). As per the identifiers, the 11th-gen iPad may run on the A16 chipset, a significant upgrade over the A14 Bionic on the iPad 10th generation.

The company could bring the upcoming iPad mini with an A17 chipset. If this is the case, it may gain Apple Intelligence features. The report also highlighted a few scrapped iPad models. The notable ones are the M3 iPad Pro and a version of the A14 iPad. For context, Apple launched the M4 iPad Pro with an OLED screen this year at its 'Let Loose' event.

Moreover, the references hint about the M5 iPad Pro, which could debut next year or in 2026. The device could debut in two screen sizes - 11-inch and 13-inch and Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + Cellular configurations. Speaking of the current model, the iPad Pro 2024 offers an Ultra Retina XDR Tandem OLED 120Hz display with 1,600nits peak brightness. Under the hood, the latest 'Pro' tablet is powered by the Apple M4 chipset.

As for the optics, these offer a 12MP rear camera and a 12MP ultrawide lens on the front. It gets a quad-speaker system for multimedia consumption. The eSIM variant offers 5G connectivity. All models get Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, Face ID, LiDAR Scanner and iPad OS 17 operating system. iPad Pro 2024 carries a starting price of Rs 99,900 in India. You can read more about the device here.
