Apple’s long-rumoured foldable iPhone is back in the spotlight, and the latest leaks offer the clearest early picture of what the company may be building. Often referred to as the iPhone Fold, this device is shaping up to be Apple’s most radical hardware experiment in more than a decade.
Reports first hinted at Apple testing multiple form factors, and Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman earlier noted that Apple is exploring a design with a 7.8-inch internal display paired with a 5.5-inch outer screen. According to him, the folded thickness could sit between 9mm and 9.5mm, and Apple may be equipping the device with four cameras. With the new wave of leaks, that picture is becoming far sharper.

A First for Foldables: Under-Display Camera Inside
A recent J.P. Morgan research report claims Apple is considering a 24-megapixel under-display camera for the inner screen. This would make it the first foldable with a UDC hidden under the main internal display. The camera is said to remain invisible during regular use, allowing the full screen to function without any cutouts.

Apple Targets a Crease-Free Foldable Experience
One of the biggest challenges with foldables — the crease across the internal display — may have been addressed. New leaks suggest that Apple’s prototype panels appear smooth, with no visible crease lines, hinting at a redesigned hinge and display structure. If this holds true, Apple could become the first major brand to offer a truly crease-free inner screen.
The Largest Battery Ever in an iPhone
Battery details have also surfaced, and they point toward Apple’s biggest jump yet. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes the capacity could fall between 5,400 mAh and 5,800 mAh, while some Chinese tipsters indicate “over 5,000 mAh” as a safe baseline. Given the large 7.8-inch panel, this would position the iPhone Fold as having the largest battery in iPhone history — and potentially larger than the Galaxy Z Fold7. It may also use high-density cells, hinting at both endurance and efficiency improvements.
Expected Pricing
MacRumors suggests the price could land between $2,000 and $2,500, which may translate to ₹170,000–₹210,000 in India. If accurate, this would make it the most expensive iPhone Apple has ever released, surpassing even the Pro Max lineup.

The iPhone Fold remains an early-stage device, but if these leaks hold, Apple could be preparing a foldable that pushes design, battery performance, and display engineering to a new level.
