Soon after YouTube eased down its monetisation guidelines for creators, Meta now offers some additional benefits for platform creators so they may increase their earnings through its "Performance bonus program," which rewards creators for receiving high levels of engagement from their work on Facebook.

With this move, the company has also simplified the eligibility criteria for the Stars, allowing new creators to earn more money from their viewers.

Facebook New Monetisation Eligibility Criteria

According to Meta's most recent guidelines, Facebook creators must have at least 500 followers in the last 30 days. Meta is also experimenting with the option to cross-post Instagram-branded video reels and stories to Facebook, which will increase campaign reach and impact.

Facebook New Ad Criteria For Partnership

Meta's Facebook has lowered the criteria for qualifying for partnership ads so that creators who use Pages can authorise their business partners to run advertisements from their Facebook Page. The business updated its Ads on Reels experiments in May, including the addition of a new compensation mechanism and an increase in the number of authors participating.

Now, the business announced that it would soon launch a small test in which a select group of producers will be able to monetize reels that use music that has been licenced from the Facebook Audio Library. The Facebook app will notify eligible creators, and the firm said it will gradually expand the program's reach.

Meanwhile, Google-owned YouTube has also revised and lowered the criteria for the creators to monetise their content. The creators will now need at least 500 subscribers and must have uploaded three or more public videos in the last 90 days. Further, the blog post said, the creator must have completed 3,000 watch hours in the past year or 3 million Shorts views in the last 90 days.
