JE Technology Desk: Meta, the parent company of Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger, has been experimenting with artificial intelligence. The company is apparently planning to deploy AI-generated stickers for its instant messaging platform Messenger in an upcoming version. The report suggests that the company would start testing the feature soon.
The company will employ its image generation model to let users create stickers based on text prompts, announced Meta's vice president of AI Ahmad Al-Dahle during a company-wide meeting, as The Verge reported on Friday. The report also suggests that the company would first test this feature internally before rolling it out to the public.
"With AI-generated stickers, our users can have infinitely more options for self-expression, cultural representations, and even trend relevance," said Al-Dahle as quoted by the report.
Obviously, stickers are just the beginning. He stated that the business is "working on AI models that will transform any image you want in any way you want, such as changing the aspect ratio of your picture or converting a photo into a painting", as per the report.
In the meantime, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg disclosed in February 2023 that the business was establishing a new "top-level" product team that would be "focused" on generative AI. In the near future, the corporation will concentrate on creating expressive and creative tools, according to Zuckerberg. The business would create "AI personas" in the long run to assist users in a number of ways.
According to the report, the business is putting a lot of effort into developing a sophisticated AI model and huge language model that will incorporate text, audio, visual, thermal, and depth data.
The company is getting ready to launch Meta Quest 3, the latest version, for users this autumn with a lot sleeker and more comfortable style and design. Mark Zuckerberg revealed the cost of the AR/VR headset to be $499.
