Microsoft Azure Outage: The impact of an outage that affected Microsoft 365 and Azure cloud computing services in several parts of the world today continues to decrease as the tech giant implemented mitigation measures. The update comes after the widespread CrowdStrike Falcon sensor issue that failed Windows computers across the globe recently. Taking to X (formerly called Twitter), Microsoft 365 Status shared it is investigating and implementing fixes for the issues that may lead to "degraded performance" in Microsoft 365 services and features.
Original Story Continues...
Microsoft Azure Support also shared that it is "investigating" the outage affecting the Azure portal. Downdetector, an outage monitoring platform, also has elevated disruption reports for Microsoft 365 and Azure in the US (100+). However, the numbers remain under 100 in India. However, Microsoft Office consumer services continue to remain unaffected by the move, as per the Service health page of Microsoft.
The outage has affected parts of the United States, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Europe, Asia (including India), Australia and the Middle East. The network warning implies users may face issues while accessing a subset of Microsoft services in these regions. "We have multiple engineering teams engaged to diagnose and resolve the issue," Microsoft noted.
We are investigating reports of issues connecting to Microsoft services. More details will be provided as they become available on the Azure status page at https://t.co/3dVusz9kWk.

Meanwhile, Azure status said: "We have implemented networking configuration changes and have performed failovers to alternate networking paths to provide relief...telemetry shows improvement in service availability," the latest update stated.
Microsoft Outage Today: Latest Update
It seems the outage is slowly subsiding as the Microsoft 365 Admin Center marks its services as "Available". However, the mitigation steps (as of 11:30 PM) are being monitored in the case of Azure cloud services. The outage graph on Downdetector has also settled to a stable level.
