JE Technology Desk: Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently made headlines for a mixed martial art (MMA) cage fight. And in the latest update, Musk said that he plans to start training for it in case the competition takes shape, Reuters reported.
For the unversed, the Twitter owner tweeted on Tuesday that he is "up for a cage match" with Zuckerberg in Las Vegas. Replying to this, the Meta boss posted on his Instagram profile, "Send me location," with the screenshot of Musk's tweet. Meanwhile, Zuckerberg is trained in jiu-jitsu.
What did Musk say?
During a conversation with Ashlee Vance, author of - 'Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future', the Tesla CEO said: "I haven't started training yet. So if this does happen, I will," according to the report.
The fight 'might actually happen,' he iterated during a birthday party in Europe and added the possibility of the match proceeding badly if Zuckerberg is serious about it.
Soon after Musk received a reply from the Meta CEO, he added: "I have this great move that I call 'The Walrus', where I just lie on top of my opponent & do nothing." In the past, the Tesla chief mocked Mark for preparing a Twitter rival and posted "Zuck my (Tongue emoji)" and "copy (cat emoji)". This alternative will have a comparable interface to the micro-blogging app and is secretly under testing.
Back to the match, the 51-year-old, according to The Verge, was reportedly into "real hard-core street fights" during his days in South Africa. Zuckerberg, 39, is seasoned in Jiu-Jitsu and freshly completed the 'Murph Challenge' in under 40 minutes.
Maye Musk, Elon's mother, intervened to tweet that "Actually, I canceled the fight. I haven't told them yet. But I will continue to say the fight is canceled, just in case," and asked them to fight with words.
Further, Musk added that investments in SpaceX's Starship, the first flight of which exploded in April, may reach $3 billion. Works on improvements are ongoing.
