MSI Handheld Gaming Console: After ASUS and Lenovo, another PC maker is all set to make a splash in the gaming handheld market. MSI has teased the debut of its upcoming possible Steam Deck competitor that will be announced at the Consumer Electronics Store (CES) 2024. The "Dragon" themed device will be the company's attempt to compete in the gaming space next to other products of PC players - ASUS ROG Ally and Lenovo Legion Go.

Reportedly called the MSI Claw, the company has teased the gaming handheld in China and on microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter). Based on Intel Gaming's response to the update, it seems the device could be powered by an Intel CPU. Gizmochina, citing a Geekbench listing, claims the handheld could have an Intel Meteor Lake processor (likely the Core Ultra 7 155H).

The CPU gets 16 cores and 22 threads, which is more powerful than the Ryzen Z1 Extreme, which powers the ROG Ally and Legion Go. The Ultra 7 155H gets six performance (P) cores, eight efficient (E) and two low power (LP-E) cores. Its GPU gets eight Xe-Cores that can clock up to 2.25GHz speeds. The console will likely boot on Windows 11 (64-bit) and offer up to 32GB RAM.

The company has given ample focus to exhaust vents for cooling and thermal efficiency, as visible in the short teaser. Plus, the mesh grill on the back could boast the signature "Dragon" MSI logo. MSI could introduce other storage trims to serve a diverse user base. Based on the teasers, the device may offer Xbox-like controls with RGB LEDs and front-firing speakers.
