OnePlus has officially begun rolling out OxygenOS 16, its latest Android 16-based software update, for the OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13s. The new version brings refined visuals, smoother animations, AI-driven tools, and deeper customisation options aimed at enhancing the overall user experience.

Fluid Animations with Parallel Processing 2.0

OxygenOS 16 introduces “Parallel Processing 2.0”, a new animation engine designed to make transitions and gestures more fluid. OnePlus says this tech allows new actions to begin before the previous ones finish, creating seamless navigation across apps and system menus.

Adjustable Icons and Enhanced Tablet Mode

The new home screen experience lets users resize app folders and icons to fit their preferences. On larger screens, OxygenOS 16 expands multitasking with support for up to five apps on Open Canvas, three in split view, and two in floating windows, making it far more flexible for tablet users.

Lock Screen Widgets and Custom Themes

With OxygenOS 16, OnePlus has finally brought lock screen widgets—a long-requested feature. Depending on the selected theme, widgets can be aligned horizontally or vertically. The update also adds the new Flux Theme 2.0, supporting motion wallpapers and video backgrounds, as well as an edge-to-edge Always-on Display that keeps key information visible even when the screen is off.

Fluid Cloud for Real-Time Updates

The new Fluid Cloud feature offers live, glanceable updates from supported apps like Spotify, delivery services, and sports platforms right on the lock screen, keeping users informed without needing to unlock their phone.

Revamped Design with Subtle Transparency

Visually, OxygenOS 16 delivers a refreshed interface that feels lighter and more polished. Rounded corners, translucent panels, and Gaussian blur effects are now consistent across system elements like the app drawer, home screen, and quick settings. Even built-in apps like Calculator and Clock receive updated designs.

Plus Mind Gets Smarter

Originally launched with the OnePlus 13S, OnePlus Mind has evolved from a basic note-capturing tool into a full-fledged memory hub. Users can now add screenshots, record one-minute voice notes, and save reading materials—all accessible through the new Plus Key shortcut.

How to Download OxygenOS 16

To install OxygenOS 16, head to Settings → Software Update and tap Download and Install once the update appears. Ensure your phone has enough storage space and at least 30% battery before beginning the process.
