Realme is gearing up to launch its next flagship — the Realme GT 8 Pro — in India on November 20, 2025, and the company has now revealed the smartphone’s complete camera specifications ahead of its debut. With a strong focus on photography, the GT 8 Pro will introduce three major imaging upgrades: the Ricoh GR Camera System, a 200MP Ultra Clarity Telephoto lens, and professional-grade video recording features.
Unveiled first in China last month, the Realme GT 8 Pro has already drawn attention for its Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, 7,000mAh battery, and an innovative swappable rear camera module — features that are all expected to arrive in the Indian variant as well.
Realme GT 8 Pro Camera System: Ricoh GR Optics and 200MP Zoom Power
Realme’s collaboration with Ricoh, a legendary name in photography, marks a significant milestone for the GT 8 Pro. The phone’s Ricoh GR Camera System is headlined by a 50-megapixel Anti-Glare primary sensor built to Ricoh’s optical standards.
This camera setup uses a 7P lens assembly with a five-layer anti-reflective coating designed to reduce glare, reflections, and ghosting — ensuring sharper and more consistent images, even in harsh lighting.
A special Ricoh GR Mode adds more authenticity to the photography experience with:
- Two professional focal lengths (28mm and 40mm)
- Five film-style colour profiles — Positive, Negative, High-Contrast B&W, Standard, and Monotone
- A signature Ricoh GR shutter sound for tactile shooting
- Options for custom tone adjustments and watermarks inspired by Ricoh’s street photography legacy
Segment-First 200MP Ultra Clarity Telephoto Camera
The 200MP telephoto camera is a standout addition, offering one of the highest-resolution zoom sensors ever seen in a smartphone. It features a 1/1.56-inch sensor with:
- 3x optical zoom
- 6x lossless zoom
- Up to 12x hybrid zoom
This makes the GT 8 Pro capable of detailed long-range shots without losing clarity.
A 50MP ultra-wide lens with an f/2.0 aperture and 116° field of view completes the camera system, making it a flexible triple-camera arrangement ideal for both professional and creative photography.
Cinematic Video Recording Capabilities
Realme is pushing video quality to new heights with cinema-grade recording options on both the main and telephoto lenses. The GT 8 Pro supports:
- 4K 120fps Dolby Vision recording
- 4K 120fps 10-bit Log video for colour grading and professional workflows
- 8K 30fps video recording
These options give users access to high dynamic range (HDR) and cinematic depth straight from their phone — a first for the brand’s GT lineup.
Performance and Display
The Realme GT 8 Pro is underpinned by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, Qualcomm’s latest premium-grade processor and also comes with a millisecond-level dedicated Hyper Vision+ AI chip that enable users to experience real-time image enhancement on-the-device through this device.
The front also has a flat 2K AMOLED display – confirmed for the Indian variant – which brings beautiful colour accuracy and smooth performance while gaming, editing and content creation.
Battery and Charging
The GT 8 Pro is powered by a massive 7,000mAh battery – one of the biggest in its segment and comes with support for 120W SuperVOOC fast charging, that’s said to let you fully charge your phone in less than half-an-hour.
Software and Design
Powered by the Realme UI 7 based on Android 16, it brings in more fluid animations, transition effects and greater depth of AI integration.
As for design, the modular swappable rear camera module which reappears here (from the Chinese version) enables users to switch out the phone’s rear appearance – something that results in a modular twist not seen at other smartphones.
Expected Price in India
Although pricing hasn’t been officially confirmed by Realme yet, early industry estimates hint at the prospect of GT 8 Pro being priced around ₹54,999 to ₹59,999, which will directly compete with iQOO 13 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Ultra and OnePlus 13.
Final Thoughts
The Realme GT 8 Pro is set to become one of the most powerful camera-centric smartphones in its segment. Realme makes it pretty clear that with its Ricoh GR optics, 200MP telephoto zoom and Dolby Vision-level video recording capabilities, it is looking to change the game when it comes to mobile imaging and content consumption.
Upon its official launch in India on November 20, the GT 8 Pro just might become a new category benchmark across sub-₹60,000 flagship smartphones – offering both cutting-edge performance and AI-powered photography alongside Realme’s most mature design language to date.
