Expected Price in India

Xiaomi has confirmed the Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G will launch for a price tag range of Rs. 20,000-30,000. Taking things even further, tipster Abhishek Yadav believes the pricing could be somewhat like this:

- Wi-Fi variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage: around Rs. 25,000

- 5G variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage: around Rs. 28,000

- 5G variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage: around Rs. 30,000

These prices place the tablet squarely in the competitive upper mid-range segment.

Display and Design Details

The Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G will include a 12.1-inch Quad HD+ display with support for Dolby Vision and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The tablet will feature a metal unibody build, and it’s going to be just 7.5 mm thick, with the weight expected to clock in between 600 and 610 grams – pretty slim for something with such large added battery capacity.

Performance and Hardware

The tablet will be fuelled by a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 SoC, and the global version is also expected to share the same Adreno 810 GPU. The European variant was announced earlier with 6GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB storage (UFS 2.2), but the Indian version is likely to have more RAM options, as well as a 5G model there too.

Storage is also expandable by up to 2TB with a microSD card, which media-heavy users would no doubt appreciate.

Battery and Charging

The Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G’s largest feature is its gargantuan 12,000mAh cell. Redmi says this is the world’s largest battery in a tablet with a 12.1-inch screen. The tablet will feature 33W wired fast charging, which should go a long way considering its large battery capacity.

Audio and Cameras

The tablet will sport a quad-speaker system with Dolby Atmos integration. The volume of the device is to be a little louder than its predecessor, and Redmi mentions it as 'video calls and media consumption boosted'.

What to Expect Overall

If you’re after a large high-refresh-rate display, a Snapdragon 7-series chipset to keep it snappy, and something that can handle light gaming between Netflix binges without breaking the bank, then this new slate from Xiaomi has strong all-round appeal. Better yet, other specifics, such as software features and what you will get in the box, should be disclosed closer to its launch.
