Jio has newly announced the launch of JioTag, a Bluetooth tracking device in India. Built on the foundation of Apple AirTag, it can find your phone once connected. The Bluetooth 5.1 device can function within the range of up to 20m indoors and 50m outdoors.
JioTag Specifications
The device weighs 9.5g and has dimensions measuring 3.82x3.82x0.72 cm. JioTag's battery can survive up to one year and has a replaceable CR2032 battery.
How JioTag works?
Connected devices such as a smartphone will ring regardless of their state in silent mode. A user can double-tap the Bluetooth gadget to locate misplaced items.
Further, it can alert users whenever they forget connected articles such as keys, wallets, bags and more with their precise location. If a user misses the disconnection message, the last available location will be displayed.
Despite all this, if the JioTag and the connected article are untraceable, a user can label it as lost in the JioThings app and the Jio Community can search and report it back.
How To Use JioTag?
A user can download JioThings from Google Play Store on Android or App Store on an iOS device and configure the app to set up the device.
JioTag Price
Though JioTag carries a Maximum Retail Price (MRP) of Rs 2,199, it starts from Rs 749 on the official website of Jio. The product tracking device comes in a single colour White. Moreover, a user also has the option to pay via cash on delivery (on select pin codes) mode. It comes with a one-year manufacturer's warranty. Jio also ships an extra battery and lanyard cable inside the box to easily attach it to an article.
Meanwhile, Airtag from Apple is priced at Rs 3,490 and also uses Bluetooth to monitor belongings and send location to the owner.
