ASUS, which has made a significant name in the gaming smartphone market, has now officially confirmed the ROG Phone 8 series. This came after the company announced that the smartphones will draw its power from the Snapdragon 8 Gen chipset. However, the company has not announced the launch date and other details about the next-generation gaming-centric phones.
Previously, OnePlus and iQOO have announced that the OnePlus 12 and the iQOO 12 will be powered by the latest generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset which will be offering 30 per cent better performance, 20 per cent more efficiency, a 25 per cent better GPU performance and a 98 per cent of AI improvements. It will also be a massive upgrade over the ROG 7 series which is backed by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.

The business has not formally disclosed any important hardware specifications. As per the reports, the ROG 8 series will come with three distinct model numbers: AI2401_A for the global market, AI2401_C for the China or India market, and AI2401_E for the ROG Phone 8 Pro. The phone series will include the ROG Phone 8, ROG Phone 8 Pro, and ROG Phone 8 Ultimate.
The company has not revealed the launch date of the ROG 8 series but it is expected that the smartphone will make its China debut in early 2024. The phones are already spotted on the Geekbench benchmark library which has achieved a single-core score of 2213 points and a multi-core score of 7048 points.
We expect that the smartphones will be offered with up to 16 GB RAM, Android 14 and a dedicated vapour cooling chamber for better gaming performance.
