Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra: Samsung’s next flagship is starting to take shape, and if the latest leaks are anything to go by, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is less about radical change and more about thoughtful refinement. A trusted tipster has revealed key details that paint a clear picture: Samsung is focusing on a sleeker design, improved thermal performance, and some meaningful upgrades where it counts.
Display: Big, Bold, and Nearly Borderless
The S26 Ultra is expected to retain the same 6.9-inch display as its predecessor, the S25 Ultra. But don’t mistake that for stagnation—Samsung is reportedly narrowing the bezels even further, pushing the screen-to-body ratio closer to the edge. It’s a subtle move, but one that’ll make the device feel even more immersive.
For S Pen users, there was internal testing to eliminate the digitiser (which makes stylus input possible), but the results didn’t meet expectations. So, the digitiser stays—good news for fans who rely on the stylus for productivity or creative work.
Design: Cleaning Up the Back
While the overall look of the phone will be similar to the S25 Ultra, Samsung is reportedly making one small—but welcome—change. The protruding camera rings on the back, which many users found clunky or “stuck-on”, are being removed. The result should be a cleaner, more seamless rear panel. The phone will still be IP68-rated, offering the same strong protection against water and dust.
Camera: Familiar Power, Smarter Enhancements
On the camera front, the S26 Ultra keeps its 200MP ISOCELL HP2 main sensor but pairs it with a new lens for better results. It’s also expected to include a 50MP ultra-wide camera, a 50MP periscope lens with 5x optical zoom, and a 12MP 3x telephoto sensor, up from 10MP in the S25 Ultra.
Samsung is also adding a new laser autofocus sensor to help improve focus speed, along with a next-generation ProVisual Engine to boost image processing capabilities. There’s a new front camera coming as well, though exact details haven’t been revealed yet.
Performance: Powerhouse with Better Cooling
Powering the Galaxy S26 Ultra across all markets will be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Elite chipset. Samsung reportedly scrapped its plans for a custom 2nm chip, so we’ll likely see the 3nm TSMC-made version instead—possibly with a higher-clocked “For Galaxy” variant, similar to previous releases.
To manage all that performance, the S26 Ultra is expected to feature a vapour chamber cooling system that’s 1.2 times larger than what was used in the S25 Ultra. This should help reduce heat during gaming or intensive tasks and could lead to more consistent performance and better battery efficiency overall.
Memory: 16GB RAM Across the Lineup
Samsung isn’t holding back on memory this time. Every storage variant—256GB, 512GB, and 1TB—will reportedly come with a generous 16GB of RAM. Whether you’re gaming, editing, or just multitasking like a pro, the S26 Ultra should be more than capable.
What to Expect
The Galaxy S26 Ultra doesn’t appear to be a dramatic redesign, and that’s not a bad thing. Samsung seems to be refining its Ultra formula—focusing on better ergonomics, cleaner design, more effective cooling, and camera improvements that matter. It’s shaping up to be a flagship that builds on the strengths of its predecessor rather than reinventing the wheel.
Whether these changes are enough to push sales beyond what the S25 Ultra achieved remains to be seen, but for long-time Samsung fans, the S26 Ultra is looking like a reliable evolution with all the right tweaks.
