SOUTH Korean smartwatch maker, Samsung, has unveiled One UI 5 Watch, which will be available first on the upcoming Galaxy Watch devices in 2023 and then roll out to other Watch series in the product catalogue. The new UI interface aims to enhance personalisation and deliver a polished health experience to users. This update stresses better sleep along with more wellness features.
Here is a sneak peek into the new One UI 5 Watch update.
Sleep Coaching
As per Samsung, the primary areas in focus are sleep pattern tracking, building a sleep-friendly environment and ensuing healthy habits. Inside One UI 5 Watch, the stats interface displays a sleep score to let the user know if they had enough rest last night and offers details of sleep stages, blood oxygen stats and snoring hours.
Additionally, Sleep Coaching is trained across many sleep patterns and is accessible via the Galaxy Watch or a connected device. When the watch detects the wearer is asleep, SmartThings can turn off paired gadgets to avoid distractions. Next, the Sleep Mode mutes notifications and reduces the brightness intensity with the help of the infrared sensor.
Fitness Partner
The Personalised Heart Rate Zone helps analyse physical activity and deliver a customised workout plan. Route Workout in the Galaxy Watch Pro now supports running and walking, besides hiking and cycling options.
Safety Features
Enhancements to the SOS allow direct communication to an emergency contact to share the location of the wearer over a network. The watch seeps into medical stats to ensure emergency help is deployed on time. Moreover, Fall Detection will be pre-activated for users above the age of 55 to ensure timely resolution.
Availability
For now, Galaxy Watch5 and Watch4 series owners can enrol in the beta program via Samsung Members app in the US and Korea.
"Samsung is dedicated to delivering a comprehensive health experience and empowering users to reach their wellness goals. Now more than ever, we believe this starts with getting a good night's sleep," stated Hon Pak, Vice President and Head of Digital Health Team, MX Business at Samsung Electronics.
