Samsung is said to launch its long-rumoured Galaxy Z TriFold soon, which will be the company’s first triple-folding smartphone, at a special event in early March. The South Korean tech giant is already getting ready for the launch, which has been slated to happens on December 5, 2025 and was first reported by The Chosun. The phone will reportedly launch shortly after the event though Samsung hasn’t yet confirmed a date or what specs and prices to expect.
If the report is true, then the Galaxy Z TriFold will be one of Samsung’s most radical hardware experiments yet — a product that shows off how foldable display technology and lithium-ion batteries have matured in a device more designed to show what it can do than something that could function as a mass-market product.

Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold Launch Timeline
According to industry sources who spoke directly to The Chosun, Samsung is preparing for a standalone launch event on December 5th (if the source's information is accurate) to unveil its Galaxy Z TriFold in markets worldwide.
The emphasis at the event will in all likelihood be placed squarely on Samsung's next-generation display tech and setting the TriFold as a proof of concept for what foldable smartphones of the future would look like.
Degeneres, who has yet to tease any specifics for the launch, but is said to have started production in very small numbers if true will mean that the few people able to grab them shortly after their release date are going to be a very lucky bunch.
The Galaxy Z TriFold is likely to hit the market immediately after launch, however, it will be available only in certain premium markets including reading South Korea and those in the U.S. as well as Europe.
Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold Display and Design
As per leaks Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold sports a large screen, which features an incredible design.
Leaked information suggests their will be a 6.5-inch external display on the Galaxy Z TriFold — akin to the Galaxy Z Fold 3’s cover screen.
Display specifications (expected):
- Outer screen: 6.5-inch AMOLED panel
- Inner screen: 10-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex display
- Resolution: QXGA+
- Refresh rate: 120Hz adaptive
- Pixel density: ~368ppi
- Peak brightness: 2,600 nits
Flipping it open, the TriFold is purported to be around 4.2mm thin when fully opened and about 14mm closed – or shockingly slim for what should be a complex triple-hinge construction.
The device would also supposedly have a tablet-style aspect ratio, perhaps making it well-suited for multitasking and creative work as well as productivity tasks when open.
Battery and Charging
The battery capacity is also said to have been greatly improved over the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The Galaxy Z TriFold is rumored to offer a 5,600mAh battery, rather than the Fold 7’s 4,400mAh cell — a good thing given its significantly bigger display area.
Charging capabilities are expected to include:
- 25W wired fast charging
- Fast Wireless Charging 2.0
- Wireless PowerShare
Samsung has likely optimised the TriFold’s power management to handle the extended display size without compromising battery life.
Limited Units and Pricing
Samsung would only make a small number of Galaxy Z TriFolds as part of a limited production that is in the range of 20,000 to 30,000 units for the first batch.
This follows industry scuttlebutt that the company doesn’t intend to make the TriFold some mass-market launch product but as a show-off of its foldy-display chops.
When it comes to cost, early speculation alludes the Galaxy Z TriFold could retail for around KRW 4.4 million (about ₹2,66,000) – which would make it one of Samsung’s most expensive handsets yet.
At that price, it would be priced above the Galaxy Z Fold 7 as a collectible and piece of tech cutting edge hardware for professionals.

What to Expect at the Launch Event
The Galaxy Z TriFold release will be one of Samsung’s last big hardware announcements in 2025, capping off a year that has seen the company achieve great strides with foldable design, display tech and AI integration across its portfolio.
The event will likely focus on:
- Demonstrating Samsung’s triple-hinge technology and display durability.
- Showcasing One UI optimisation for triple-fold functionality.
- Highlighting use cases for productivity and entertainment, such as multitasking, media creation, and gaming on the expanded screen.
- Samsung may also tease future foldable prototypes or accessories that complement the TriFold’s unique form factor.
Final Thoughts
The rumored Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold could be a huge breakthrough in folding phone technology -- turning the gimmick into a true cross between phone and tablet.
Featuring a 10-inch screen and huge 5,600mAh battery, combined with premium design this tablet is looking to show off Samsung’s mastery of next-gen display tech.
While the ₹2.6 lakh+ price and very limited availability may keep it out of reach for average consumers, the Galaxy Z TriFold is likely to set a new standard for innovation in the foldable market — and give us an early look at what mobile tech might soon become.
