Snapseed has been one of the most famous photo editing app for smartphones. Back in 2012 it was acquired by Google. It has been ages since Google pushed a big update for Snapseed. However, it looks like Google just released a new version of the Snapseed app. It is named as version 3.0. And it does not only revamp the icon of the app. It even brings a simpler UI of the app. It was 9to5Google who first spotted the update and reported it. In this article, we will be discussing Google’s Snapseed update version 3.0. So without any further ado, let’s head into the article.

After years of silence, Google has finally pushed a big update for Snapseed, its popular photo-editing app – still, the upgrade is locked to iPhone and iPad for now. Version 3.0 brings a fresh look, smoother navigation, and a neat new tool that's meant to make editing faster.

What’s New in Snapseed 3.0 for iOS

Spotted by 9to5Google, the latest update introduces a modernised interface and quality-of-life improvements:

  • Redesigned App Icon: A more minimal look aligns with current Google app aesthetics.
  • Revamped UI: Edited photos now appear in a grid view, allowing quicker access.
  • Floating Action Button (FAB): Positioned at the bottom for instant editing access.
  • Reorganised Tabs:
    • “Looks” stays on the bottom left.
    • “Tools” moves to the right.
    • “Export” shifts to the top right.
  • New “Faves” Tab replaces the center spot, letting users save frequently used tools.

What About Android?

While iOS fans enjoy the polish, Android users are still stuck in the past-literal and figurative darkness. The last Android patch arrived in early 2021, adding dark mode, and when asked about future plans a Google rep told The Verge they have nothing to share yet.

Conclusion

Snapseeds long-overdue makeover finally breathes fresh air into the app-for iPhone and iPad users, anyway. Because Google has said nothing about an Android update, we still dont know whether that edition will close the gap in 2025 or stay stuck in second place.
