Call Drop: These days it's almost impossible to think about your life without a smartphone; the devices have assimilated themselves so seamlessly into our lives that it almost feels like just another organ. The device makes it easier for us to talk to people sitting miles away, and these days you can also make a video call for that purpose. But sometimes the calling experience is poor due to bad connectivity, and you experience call dropping, which prompts you to keep saying hello again and again. Let's take a look at a few tips that can improve your overall calling experience.

1. Wi-Fi Calling To The Rescue

With Wi-Fi installed at your place, you can just easily evade this problem of call dropping. Just turn on the Wi-Fi calling in your device. This enables you to get good connectivity if you are in your home or office where signals are weak. Although the setting is enabled by default, on some devices you may need to turn it on.

2. Install a Signal Booster

If you often struggle with weak signals at home or in the office, a certified mobile signal booster can be a game-changer. These devices are now readily available in the market and can significantly improve signal strength—even in low-reception areas like basements. Once installed, they help ensure clearer calls and fewer dropped connections.

3. Close Background Apps

Background apps can quietly eat up your network bandwidth, especially if they’re syncing data or downloading updates. This extra load can affect your call quality and even lead to call drops. The problem gets worse if you're downloading large files while on a call. To avoid this, make it a habit to close unnecessary apps running in the background when expecting or receiving important calls.

4. Consider Using an eSIM

If your physical SIM slot has been damaged or isn’t functioning properly—even after repair—switching to an eSIM might offer better network stability. In many cases, eSIMs deliver more consistent connectivity. So, if your phone and carrier support it, switching to an eSIM could enhance your overall calling experience.

5. Try Updating

Last but not least, sometimes a call drop problem might occur due to a minor bug in your mobile phone. OS updates and mobile updates are released by the companies from time to time, which come with important security updates that help in optimising performance. So if you are facing too many call drops, check if your device is updated.
