TWITTER, the popular micro-blogging site, now supports up to 10,000 characters in tweets. Alongside the increased length, a user can format the text via bold and italic styles. However, just like other great features, it will be exclusive to Twitter Blue subscribers. For users who constantly face space crunch because of the low character limit, the Blue subscription will be a go-to choice.
The Help Centre page of Twitter Blue states that everyone can see lengthy tweets, "but only Blue subscribers can create them." Plus, quote tweets and replies will also support the character limit. Further, it would be possible to format the text (bold and italic) via twitter.com.

"We're making improvements to the writing and reading experience on Twitter! Starting today, Twitter now supports Tweets up to 10,000 characters in length, with bold and italic text formatting," Twitter Write shared on Twitter. "Sign up for Twitter Blue to access these new features, and apply to enable Subscriptions on your account to earn income directly on Twitter. Tap on "Monetization" in settings to apply today."
The announcement tweet has garnered over 15 thousand likes and 9.4 million views at the time of filing this article. This change came on expected lines as the Twitter CEO had hinted at the limit change with "simple formatting tools" last month. The updated limit will help Blue subscribers flow their thoughts into the tweet without worrying about the character limit and tinkering around with some formatting.
A user must be aware that it is not a first-of-its-kind move by the Tesla CEO-owned platform. Earlier, in 2017, the character limit went from 140 to 280. Jack Dorsey described it as a "small change but a big move."
With the record of seizing features from free subscribers, we can assume the update is not expanding to non-blue users anytime soon. The change comes as an overhaul of the platform after the leadership change. Elon Musk is trying every possible trump card to tempt users to subscribe to Twitter Blue.
