TWITTER, a prominent microblogging network that has undergone numerous modifications since Elon Musk took over, has unveiled yet another intriguing feature, that would allow users to upload a 2-hour video to the platform. The feature, however, would be restricted to Blue subscribers exclusively.
Twitter Blue subscribers have already got some interesting features to use on the platform including the priority in search, mentions, and replies along with half the ads on the news feed, tweet edits, and more. Now, users can upload long-format videos for their followers.
In terms of specifications, the video quality might be 1080p, but it must be 8GB or less to be submitted to the platform. According to Twitter Support docs, the capability is now available for web and iOS users. This plainly shows that if you are an Android user, you will still be able to upload videos that are 10 minutes longer.
With this move, Twitter could become the next YouTube, as users can upload movies or other types of content to the platform. According to The Verge, a user has already seen the full version of Shrek the Third in the comments section of Elon Musk's Tweet. However, the video has been removed.
If you are a non-Twitter Blue subscriber, you would be able to post videos with a limit of up to 140 seconds.
However, Twitter Blue has already sparked controversy because the Elon Musk-led company has begun to include the Blue Tick (previously a verification badge awarded to influential users) with the subscription. Twitter Blue users would also get a 10,000-character limit (up from the previously too-long 4,000-character limit), text formatting support, and more.
It seems like Elon Musk has some big plans for the creators and Twitter Blue users as the company has already announced that it is working on a way to share ad revenue with the paid users.
