TWITTER, a popular microblogging platform that is already in the buzz, is back in the news after the platform restored the blue tick to influential people. Soon after Elon Musk removed the legacy blue tick, users experienced confusion in determining which person is real and which is a fake account, especially in the case of influential people. Interestingly, all the influential people who got their blue ticks have not paid for the blue membership.

Influential figures who passed away have also regained their blue ticks on the profile in a recent update. Late Hollywood actor Chadwick Boseman, late American singer Chester Bennington, and late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput all had their blue ticks restored.

The "account is verified because they are subscribed to Twitter Blue and verified their phone number," according to a statement outlining the restoration of the service for the deceased celebrities. It's unclear who paid for the service, though. Rajput and Bennington's Twitter accounts were last active in 2019 and 2017, respectively.

Plenty of influential people including the cricketer Virat Kohli, Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, Shahid Kapoor, and others have also got their blue ticks back on their profiles after they got removed as a part of legacy blue tick removal.

Previously, new Twitter boss Elon Musk had announced that the Twitter legacy blue ticks would be removed by 4/20 which denoted April 20, and this time it actually happened. There is still plenty of confusion among users about the benefits of Twitter Blue, the much-hyped blue badge.

Twitter Blue for users is available for a monthly subscription fee of Rs 650 on the web and Rs 900 for Android and iOS devices. Not only blue tick, but Twitter Blue is also offered a series of new features including half the ads on the news feed, priorities in search, mentions, and replies, editing the tweets, and getting their hands on the new features first.
