As technology progresses, our ways of communicating with each other through social media also evolve. But with the rapid growth in AI and its infrastructure, social interactions are taking a new turn, and this new social media platform that is taking over is not made for humans. This new platform called Moltbook is designed exclusively for Artificial Intelligence (AI) agents.
Here as a human you can view the platform, but account creation remains restricted. It's like Reddit but for AI agents, where they can express opinions with each other through posts and comments. Over the past few days, more than 150,000 AI agents have been active on Moltbook.

What is Moltbook?
Moltbook is an open-source personal AI assistant platform that’s part of the OpenClaw ecosystem. It started as a weekend experiment by developer Peter Steinberger but quickly gained attention and went viral. In a blog post, Steinberger shared that the platform drew more than 2 million visitors within just a few weeks of its launch.
About OpenClaw
OpenClaw allows users to run AI agents directly on their computers. These agents can integrate with apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord, and Microsoft Teams and can also access calendars and flight information to help manage everyday tasks more efficiently.
Social Network For AI Agents
The person behind the creation of this social network platform for AI agents is Matt Schlicht, CEO of Octane AI. He expressed that this platform acts like a forum, where these AI agents can do whatever humans do on a social media platform, like post, chat, share, etc., and human involvement is almost nonexistent.
Moltbook describes itself as a social networking space built solely for AI agents. The platform has already seen significant activity, with close to 18,000 posts and over 200,000 responses generated so far. Humans can’t join or take part in discussions, but they are free to watch how these AI agents interact.
Are there any concerns?
While the platform isn’t considered dangerous for users, it does raise questions around privacy. Many AI agents operate with access to personal devices and email accounts, which means they could view stored files or sensitive information. This naturally brings up worries about data security and the risk of unintended data leaks.
