WhatsApp is taking steps towards one of iOS users' most-requested features: multi-account support on one iPhone. Before now, iPhone users relied on WhatsApp Business or awkward workarounds just to keep both personal and work numbers separate in WhatsApp; early testers using the latest WhatsApp beta (25.34.10.72) have noticed a multi-account option built right into it. Each number keeps its own chats, privacy settings and notifications, and you can jump between accounts instantly without logging out. It brings the same flexibility Android users have enjoyed since last year — and finally gives iPhone users a simpler way to manage life across two phone numbers.

WhatsApp Beta for iOS Gets Multi-Account Support

Testers report a new Account List section inside Settings, where you can add up to two accounts. You can attach a fresh number, log into an existing one, or link a companion account via QR code. Everything stays isolated — chat backups, privacy controls, and data for each profile remain separate.

Notifications are smarter too. Messages from the inactive account still show up, and each alert clearly labels which account received it. Switching is quick: you can use the Account List, press-and-hold the Settings tab, or double-tap it. A small toast confirms the switch.

Security and App Lock Still Apply

If the second account is protected with App Lock (Face ID, Touch ID or passcode), WhatsApp requires authentication before opening it. Deleting accounts is achieved through the Settings, while WhatsApp remembers previously used numbers for easier re-login.

What to Expect Next

Now available only to select beta testers, this feature should become widespread over the coming updates. Once implemented, iPhone users will finally enjoy an easy way of managing personal and work accounts within one app – no cloning, third-party tools or hacks necessary. Android got this capability first in 2023; iOS will likely follow soon enough.

Small changes with major ramifications - particularly for anyone managing multiple numbers on one device.
