Elon Musk owned X (formerly Twitter), a popular microblogging platform, which has been making a slew of new changes, has now announced that it will be charging USD 1 per year from the users in Philippines and New Zealand just to like, share and repost. Elon Musk previously announced the intentions and now the platform has finally announced that starting from today, it will begin testing the new feature.
Why X Is Charging For Like, Share And Posts?
The "Not A Bot" programme, which requires new users to pay $1 per year to submit content on the platform, is being implemented by X (previously Twitter) in an effort to curb the growth of bots and ensure a safer, more authentic user experience. Reading postings is still free.

The platform's owner, Elon Musk, explained, "Read for free, but write for $1/year." It is the only approach to combat bots without blocking legitimate users." Musk stated that, while this change will not completely eliminate bots, it will considerably raise the complexity of exploiting the platform.
By putting this program into place, X hopes to increase efforts against spam, platform manipulation, and bot activity. In order to access postings and watch videos, new users must subscribe; otherwise, they will only be able to do "read-only" actions.
Furthermore, this new development complements X's existing subscription strategy, which provides verified users with a $8 per month subscription that grants access to premium features.

X Blue Subscription Future Plans:
Other reports indicate that X intends to segment its premium paid subscription service into three price-varying tiers: Basic, Standard, and Plus. Users who choose the Basic tier will continue to view the same amount of advertising, however, those who choose the Standard tier will see only half as many. On the other hand, the top-tier Plus subscription will completely remove adverts and may be more expensive than the present $8 monthly rate.
