AMD RX 9070 XT: It has been quite a while now that rumours about AMD's next-gen graphic card the RX 9070/XT have been floating online. AMD had never really revealed the specifications of the RX 9070 cards, however, the 16GB GDDR6 256-bit memory configuration was already hinted upon by its board makers (ASUS, PowerColor etc). Moreover, it is somewhat of a common knowledge that AMD has been shipping RX 9070 cards since late December, and some reviewers already have their hands on them and it is also in stock with a few retailers waiting for the green light.

Rumours from Chiphell suggest that a new card is just on its way, which will allegedly feature 32 GB of memory. It has also claimed that it is not a Radeon PRO 9000 card which is expected to drop later. On top of that, another leaker has suggested that we might just see the card in the first half of 2025.

There is no confirmation if the card runs on the Navi 48 GPU, but the leaker has specifically pointed towards the "9070 series", and this might hint towards a new version with a different memory configuration. Now as 4GB GDDR6 modules are not there currently, the card would need to accommodate 16 modules physically, and this could be particularly tricky on a one-sided layout, but professional cards have been using dual-sided memory configuration for some time now and this could make it a possible option.

Why would an RX9070 need so much memory you ask? Well, it can serve purposes that go beyond gaming such as handling Large Language Models (LLM) for AI workloads.

Cards Already listed on a Canadian Retailer?

The pricing for AMD’s upcoming next-gen RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT graphics cards, based on the RDNA4 architecture, has been spotted on a Canadian retailer's website.

As noticed by Twitter/X user Tomasz Gawronski, Canada Computers listed several variants of the RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT, ranging from $599 to $699, including models from XFX and PowerColor. These prices might just be placeholders, as AMD hasn’t officially revealed the final pricing yet. At the time of writing, the listings were removed from the site.

On Twitter/X, people are already comparing the RX 9070 XT’s prices to the 5070 Ti. AMD has confirmed that the RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT will launch in March 2025, as stated by David McAfee, VP & GM of Radeon Graphics and Ryzen CPUs.
