Xiaomi has started releasing the new HyperOS 3 update to more Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco smartphones and tablets in India. It is Android 16 that arrives on the wider array of devices, beyond just the Xiaomi 17 series that it launched with earlier this year. As well as the core Android update, HyperOS 3 debuts with a new look (quick settings tiles appear to have been touched up,) faster transitions and animations, enhanced organisation through widgets, and a bunch of AI-driven tools under Xiaomi’s HyperAI banner. The rollout is also a part of Xiaomi’s quest to unify software in its ecosystem, all while bringing new practical features for productivity, multitasking, and intelligent content creation. Here’s what’s in the latest update and which devices are getting it, as well as how to get Android 10 on your device if you don’t have it yet.

Android 16 at the Core

Based on Android 16, the developer this time has improved the system’s performance optimisation and privacy protection while improving reliability alongside some other adjustments. It’s this base that Xiaomi’s custom layer builds upon with ecosystem-level integrations on phones and tablets.

Final Thoughts

The launch of HyperOS 3 is a big one for users of Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco in India. Featuring new character Android 16, an overhauled interface and useful new AI features, the update to Arc Systems Works’ popular fighting game is more about functionality than flashy flourishes. Though it's a slow rollout, once the update hits your devices, a far more polished and efficient experience for multitasking and content management awaits you. As Xiaomi rolls the OS out to more markets, HyperOS 3 will likely herald a significant leap forward in the brand’s software skin.
