After introducing different features for the creators including the AI-generated songs via prompts, Google-owned YouTube is now working on a new feature that will let creators remix tracks just by describing how they want to change the style of the song. Dubbed to be under the Dream Track toolset, the feature will be available for select songs in the initial phase.

The creators in the testing group will be able to experiment with the feature by heading to the ‘Restyle a track’ option for a song. After that, they can describe how they want to remix the song. After the prompt, the feature will create a 30-second snippet that the creators can use in their Shorts.

“If you want to give a song a different genre or mood, you simply enter your vision into the ‘Restyle a track’ prompt and you’ll soon have a customised soundtrack that reimagines the music while maintaining the essence of the original song’s vocals and lyrics,” the update reads as quoted by TechCrunch report.

Google also mentioned that these short remixed songs will be credited to the original song via the Short video itself and the Shorts audio pivot page. Not only that, there will be certain labels to indicate that the track is modified using AI.

First introduced in November last year, the YouTube Dream Track toolset comes backed by the Lyra music generation model. For the unversed, it was developed by Google’s in-house research team Deepmind.

YouTube has been working on new features to make the platform interactive. It recently introduced a new feature which helped the user find songs just by humming the tune. Speaking of the regulations, the tech giant has also announced a partnership with Universal Music Group (UMG) to develop a structure to pay rights holders.
