AFTER plenty of other technology companies, Zoom Video Communications, a popular video conferencing platform used by corporates, schools, colleges, and others has announced a collaboration with OpenAI to join the ongoing AI race.

The platform would now be focusing on developing a new range of features including summarising chat threads, organising ideas, drafting content for chats, emails, and whiteboard sessions, creating meeting agendas, and more with the help of Zoom IQ.

Additionally, the collaboration between Zoom and OpenAI will assist the platform in obtaining conversational intelligence software. The company also announces that the platform will receive many new features, such as catch-up meetings, drafting and rephrasing responses, suggesting content, and drafting emails.

In a press release, the company also stated that if a user missed a meeting, they could ask Zoom IQ to summarise everything that happened in the meeting and even ask additional questions. It will also enable users to contribute ideas for whiteboard sessions. "Once the session is completed, Zoom IQ will summarise the meeting and post that recap to Zoom Team Chat, even suggesting actions for owners to take," according to the press release.

Furthermore, the company announced that the newly developed AI capabilities would assist users in obtaining context from the chat thread. It could also generate follow-up emails for marketing pitches.
