In a separate incident, A Kalaripayattu trainer and his wife were arrested in Bengaluru for allegedly killing a delivery agent after a minor road altercation. Police said the couple chased down the victim and rammed their car into his scooter, an act captured on CCTV.
The incident occurred on October 25 at Nataraja Layout. The accused, Manoj Kumar (32) from Kerala, and his wife Aarati Sharma (30) from Jammu and Kashmir, allegedly hit 24-year-old delivery agent Darshan from Kembattalli after his scooter accidentally grazed their car’s rear-view mirror. Despite Darshan’s apology, Kumar reportedly turned his car around, chased him, and deliberately hit his scooter, killing him. Darshan’s friend Varun, who was riding pillion, sustained injuries.
Locals rushed Darshan to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival. CCTV footage later showed the couple returning to the spot around 9:40 pm, wearing masks, to collect broken car parts.
The Puttenahalli police have booked them under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for murder and destruction of evidence.
