Hyderabad's Old City is set to see a significant reduction in traffic congestion as new infrastructure projects near completion, including multiple flyovers and a Road Under Bridge (RuB). These initiatives aim to improve connectivity and ease the daily commute for residents and travellers.

Among the most awaited projects is the bi-directional, six-lane flyover connecting Aramghar to Nehru Zoological Park. Stretching 4.04 km, this flyover is the second-longest in the city and is expected to ease traffic at five key junctions: Aramghar, Shastripuram, Kalapathar, Darul Uloom, Shivrampally and Hassannagar. It aims to resolve bottlenecks, streamlining traffic flow between Aramghar and the zoo.

Another important project is a 3.38-km four-lane flyover linking Nalgonda Crossroads to Santoshnagar. Starting from Chanchalguda, the flyover will have ramps connecting traffic to Yadagiri Theatre in Santoshnagar and Champapet, alleviating congestion at busy spots like IS Sadan, Saidabad, and Chanchalguda, reported local media outlet Sisasat.

In addition to the flyovers, a new Road Under Bridge (RuB) is under construction at Malakpet. The 37-meter-long, 11-meter-wide structure will connect Nalgonda Crossroads to Kanchanbagh Road, addressing long-standing traffic issues for commuters travelling from Dilsukhnagar to Koti.

These developments will not only ease traffic but also improve access to vital institutions like the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Advanced Systems Laboratory (ASL) and Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL). Enhanced connectivity will benefit thousands of employees and foster overall regional growth.
