Hyderabad News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate the much awaited Charlapalli railway terminal on Monday. Union Minister G Kishan Reddy on Saturday informed that the station is equipped with world-class facilities and added that it will reduce congestion at Hyderabad, Secunderabad, and Kacheguda railway stations in the city.

"Hon'ble PM Shri @narendramodi ji will inaugurate (virtually) the satellite terminal on January 6, 2025," Reddy said in a post on the social media platform X. He further stated that the new railway terminal marks a remarkable step towards enhancing Hyderabad's transportation infrastructure. Around 24 trains are expected to operate from the Charlapalli railway terminal on a daily basis.

The residents are expected to get a major relief from the traffic in the city after the inauguration of the new terminal. Besides, the Charlapalli railway terminal will play an important role in boosting Hyderabad’s industrial development by being a hub for goods trains.

The construction works for the terminal were completed in the last few months with a total expenditure of around Rs 413 crore. Cherlapalli is located on the eastern side of Hyderabad and has witnessed major development works in the past few years. Several of the IT companies were demanding the development work in the region as it is situated near the Outer Ring Road. The functioning of the terminal will even reduce the traffic congestion issue for hundreds of IT employees residing in this area.

The terminal building has been constructed on the basis of modern architecture and design in a way that accommodates larger gatherings. The terminal building comprises six booking counters and separate waiting rooms for ladies and men. Apart from an upper-class waiting area in the premises, there is an executive lounge on the ground floor as well. The gates of the terminal are constructed in a manner that ensures easy entry and exit routes for the passengers.
