Hyderabad rains: Heavy rains lashed several parts of Hyderabad on Saturday night, causing severe waterlogging on many roads. Due to severe inundation, commuters faced difficulties in reaching their destinations.

Meanwhile, many areas also reported power outage due to intense weather. The Hyderabad Traffic Police confirmed waterlogging at Malakpet and Panjagutta flyover, among other areas.

In the wake of the heavy rains, the Hydra and GHMC staff have been put on high alert. The localities, including Uppal, Mehidipatnam. Pedda Amberpet, Uppal, Hayat Nagar, Nagole, LB Nagar, Tarnaka, Habsiguda, Secunderabad, Malakpet, Dilsukh Nagar, Kothapet, Vanasthalipuram, and Chaitanyapuri are witnessing heavy downpours.

Routes diverted

Due to waterlogging from Dabeerpura bridge to Dabeerpura Darwaza, the traffic has been diverted to an alternate route and the Hyderabad Traffic Police has asked the commuters to avoid the road.

What did IMD say?

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for light to moderate rains or thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds of up to 40 kmph in the city on Saturday. The similar weather condition is likely to persist in the Telangana capital for the coming few days till August 13.
