Telangana Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert for several parts of Telangana, forecasting thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds over the next few days. According to the latest update on Monday, 13 districts, including Hyderabad, may experience thunderstorm activity on Tuesday, June 17.
Telangana Weather Forecast
The IMD is forecasting thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and winds reaching speeds of 30–40 km/h in isolated parts of the state. This weather pattern is expected to continue across Telangana for the next five days. The southwest monsoon, although weak over the region currently, is likely to remain active until June 22.
As per the IMD's daily weather report, light to moderate rainfall or thundershowers are expected at some places across the state over the next seven days. Rain was recorded at a few locations during the past 24 hours, confirming the onset of scattered showers.
Telangana Weather Alert Districts
The districts placed under weather alert include Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Pedapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Yadadri Bhongir, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, and Sangareddy.
Hyderabad Weather
In Hyderabad, the IMD forecasts a generally cloudy sky for the next 24 hours. Residents may experience light to moderate rainfall along with gusty winds. Early mornings may bring hazy conditions, with daytime temperatures expected to peak around 32 degrees Celsius and minimum temperatures hovering near 23 degrees Celsius.

The continuing cloud cover and rain in Hyderabad and surrounding areas are expected to keep temperatures slightly below normal, offering some relief from typical June heat. Districts such as Medchal-Malkajgiri and Rangareddy are also likely to experience similar conditions.
Hyderabad Weather: Public Advisory
Meanwhile, the Telangana State Disaster Response and Fire Services Department has urged the public to avoid venturing out during heavy lightning and to stay away from waterlogged areas. The department emphasised the importance of safety as monsoon-related weather incidents could occur across the state.
