Telangana Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has put 14 Telangana districts on a yellow alert for thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds. The alert has been issued for Thursday, for Jangaon, Nizamabad, Hyderabad, Jagtial, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Rangareddy, Medchal Malkajgiri, Sangareddy, Rajanna Sircilla and Medak. As per the weather, capital city Hyderabad is likely to witness rain and thunderstorm activity towards the evening on May 8.

Telangana has been witnessing thunderstorms and rain for the past few days. The state has also seen a drop in the maximum temperatures. Telangana recorded the highest temperature in Miryalguda of Nalgonda on May 6 at 41.6 degrees Celsius. Temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius were recorded in 17 districts., as per the information from Telangana Planning Development Society.

Hyderabad and Medchal Malkajgiri recorded a maximum temperature of 38.6 degrees Celsius. While Rangareddy recorded 39.6 degrees Celsius.
