Telangana Weather Update: Telangana is bracing for a wet Friday tomorrow, with forecasts predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall in nearly half of its 33 districts. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday issued an orange alert warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall in Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Jayashankar Bhupalpally and other districts.
Following IMD’s heavy rainfall forecast for the next two days, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has placed the state on high alert. Officials have been instructed to monitor flood-prone areas and ensure road and power safety. Authorities have urged residents to stay indoors during a downpour to avoid inconvenience.

Telangana Weather Forecast: IMD Issues Orange Alert For THESE Districts
- The IMD in its weather bulletin on September 25 issued an orange alert for heavy to very rainfall in 15 districts of Telangana, including Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool and Wanaparthy.
- These districts are expected to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds at a speed of 40-50 kmph on Friday, September 26.
Telangana Weather Forecast: IMD Issues Yellow Alert For THESE Districts
- The weather department has placed 18 districts of Telangana under a yellow alert, forecasting heavy rainfall during the next 24 hours. The districts are: Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Hanumakonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Narayanpet and Jogulamba Gadwal.
- “Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) are very likely to occur at isolated places in all districts of Telangana,” the weather bulletin read.
CM Revanth Reddy Orders Swift Preparedness Amid Heavy Rain Alert
- CM Revanth Reddy has directed all departments to remain on high alert for the next two days following IMD’s forecast for heavy to very rainfall, news agency ANI reported.
- Officials have been instructed to monitor flood-prone areas and take proactive safety measures.
- District collectors were told to review flood situations regularly and evacuate residents from the low-lying areas.
- Authorities have asked to halt traffic movement on waterlogged roads.
- The Electricity Department has been asked to maintain a continuous power supply and remove hanging wires during downpours.

- Educational institutions have been advised to stay vigilant, and GHMC, HYDRAA, NDRF, and SDRF teams are on standby in Hyderabad for emergency response.
