Telangana Weather Update: The Hyderabad MET Department predicts maximum temperatures in Telangana to range from 36°C to 40°C until May 15, bringing a welcome respite from the region's typical intense heat. Telangana has been witnessing thunderstorms and rain for the past few days. The state has also seen a drop in the maximum temperatures.

Telangana recorded the highest temperature in Miryalguda of Nalgonda on May 6 at 41.6 degrees Celsius. Temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius were recorded in 17 districts, as per the information from the Telangana Planning Development Society.

Alongside moderate temperatures, the India Meteorological Department(IMD) has issued a statewide warning for widespread thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds in most districts of Telangana throughout the coming week.

Thunderstorm Alert In These Districts

Thunderstorm and lightning alerts have been issued for the following districts in Telangana: 

  • Northern Telangana: Adilabad, Komaram Bheem, Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad 
  • Central Telangana: Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Siddipet, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon
  • Eastern Telangana: Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Mahabubabad 
  • Southern Telangana: Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Jogulamba Gadwal 
  • Western Telangana: Rangareddy, Vikarabad, Medchal Malkajgiri 
  • Hyderabad City and Suburbs

Hyderabad Weather Forecast

Scattered thunderstorms are expected in Hyderabad's afternoons and evenings, with isolated showers likely. Residents are urged to exercise caution due to potential strong winds and lightning.
