With several hundreds during his incredible Test career, he made some unforgettable knocks as an opener. Rohit believed it was time to retire from the longest format and give younger players a chance to shine after leading India in all three formats.
2. Virat Kohli – Retired from Test Cricket
Virat Kohli, one of the greatest batsmen in cricket history, announced his retirement from Test matches on 12 May 2025, just a few days after Rohit sharma retired. In Test matches, Kohli amassed over 8,500 runs with 29 hundreds, and he was renowned for his aggressive batting and unparalleled consistency. In addition, he captained India to historic victories in international series.
