The age limit generally ranges from 18 to 32 years, though it varies for specific posts, with age relaxations provided for reserved categories.

SSC CHSL

Candidates who have finished their 12th grade can take the SSC CHSL exam, which opens doors to a variety of data entry and secretarial jobs. Candidates must have completed their 12th grade or its equivalent from an accredited board to be eligible for SSC CHSL. Usually between the ages of 18 and 27, there are age relaxations for reserved categories.

SSC MTS

For non-technical, non-gazetted Group 'C' positions in various central government ministries and departments, candidates must pass the SSC MTS exam. Candidates must have passed the Matriculation (10th) exam or its equivalent from an approved board in order to be eligible. MTS typically has an age limit of 18 to 25 years, whereas Havaldar has an age limit of 27 years, with exceptions for reserved categories.

SSC GD

Recruitment for the roles of Constable and Rifleman (General Duty) in various Central Armed Police Forces is done through the SSC GD Constable exam. A 10th-grade diploma from an accredited board is the main requirement for eligibility, along with a Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and certain physical requirements (height, chest, and weight). While there is an age relaxation for reserved categories, the typical age limit is between 18 and 23.

SSC JE

Those with an engineering background are targeted for technical roles in a variety of government agencies by the SSC JE exam. Candidates must be graduates of an accredited university or institute with a degree or diploma in the relevant engineering field. Additionally, two years of work experience in related engineering fields may be required for certain positions. Typically, the age limit falls between 18 and 30 or 32.

Pay Scale: Level 6th and 7th pay commission- ₹35,400 - ₹112,400

SSC CPO

Sub-Inspectors in the Delhi Police and other Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) are hired through the SSC CPO exam. Candidates must pass a Physical Endurance Test (PET), meet certain physical requirements, and hold a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university. Typically, the age restriction is between 20 and 25 years old, though reserved categories may have an age relaxation.

Post: Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Secretariat Security Force (SSF), Rifleman (General Duty) in Assam Rifles and Sepoy in NCB.

Payscale: ₹35,400 to ₹1,12,400 ( Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA) and Transport Allowance)

SSC Stenographer

For Grade 'C' and Grade 'D' stenographer positions in various Central Government ministries and departments, candidates must pass the SSC Stenographer exam. The main requirements for this test are passing the 12th grade or its equivalent from an accredited board or university, and passing a required stenography (typing and shorthand) skill test. Although there are age relaxations for reserved categories, the normal age range for Grade 'C' is 18 to 30 years old, and for Grade 'D', it is 18 to 27 years old.
