World's Most Expensive Airports:  The most expensive airports in the world in terms of passenger experience and facilities are the ones which provide luxury, convenience, and high-end amenities. These airports are known for their top-notch lounges, shopping, entertainment, and overall passenger comfort, which usually also charge increased airfares and service fees. Let’s take a look at the list of such top 10 most expensive airports in the world in 2025, as per the average fare prices.

Which Is The Most Expensive Airport In The World?

Istanbul Airport (IST) has been labelled as the World's Most Expensive Airport by many travellers across the globe and The Mirror. The significant reason for the airport being regarded as the most costly globally is due to sky-high food and drink prices. Here, a banana costs Rs 565 ($7), a pint of beer Rs 1,697 ($20), and a 90-gram portion of lasagna costs Rs 2,376 ($28). Even fast-food outlets like McDonald's and Burger King have sky-high prices; for example, the Double Quarter Pounder meal costs around Rs 2,450 ($29). Although the airport is architecturally impressive, travellers complain about the fares, which are 2–4 times higher than at other large airports like Frankfurt.

However, the list of the most expensive airports in the world comprises airfare prices (ticket fares). Therefore, the Istanbul Airport is not on the list as it is most costly due to skyrocketing food and drink prices, not ticket prices.
