Top 10 Items That Got Cheaper After Union Budget 2025: The Union Budget 2025 has brought relief to consumers by reducing the prices of numerous important luxury items. The government has lowered import taxes, provided tax breaks, and changed laws to support homegrown businesses and lower expenses overall. Products including medications, cell phones, LED/LCD screens, batteries for electric vehicles, and more are the focus of these initiatives.

The government hopes to boost domestic production while maintaining cheap prices by reducing customs duties on essential minerals and raw materials. These budgetary changes support sustainability and economic growth in addition to saving consumers money.

Here is the list of the top 10 items that got cheaper after Union Budget 2025 was announced;

The government has lowered customs taxes on camera module inputs and sub-parts, connections, wired headset manufacturing, microphone and receiver, USB cable, and fingerprint reader/sensor of cellular phones were lowered from 2.5% to zero percent.

2. LED/LCD Televisions

The government has reduced customs taxes on LED and LCD panels from 15 percent to 5 percent, to encourage the use of energy-efficient equipment. The goal of this cut is to lower the cost of these TVs for customers.

3. Electric Vehicle (EV) and Phone Batteries

The budget has exempted taxes on lithium-ion batteries, which are used in smartphones and EVs, in recognition of the significance of sustainable energy solutions. This program will reduce the price of mobile devices and electric cars, promoting broader use.

4. Motorcycle Imports

High-end motorcycles are now more accessible for enthusiasts due to the government's reduction of import taxes. This action is consistent with India's pledge to steer clear of trade signals that promote protection. 

5. Lifestyle Drugs and Medicines

To improve healthcare accessibility, Customs taxes have been fully exempted on 36 lifestyle medications and necessary medications to increase access to healthcare. With this approach, the general population will be able to afford treatments for a variety of illnesses.

6. Fish and Seafood

In an effort to encourage a healthy diet and help the fishing industry, the budget has reduced import taxes from 30 to 5 percent on seafood and frozen fish paste (surimi). This cut is anticipated to lower the cost of these nutrient-dense food options for customers.

7. Critical Minerals and Waste & Scrap of Lithium

According to the budget, cobalt powder, lead, zinc, trash scrap from lithium-ion batteries, and twelve other essential minerals will all be completely exempt from basic customs duty. This will ensure their availability for production in India and encourage the creation of more jobs for young people.

8. Synthetic Flavouring Essence

Import taxes on synthetic flavouring essences have been lowered from 100 to 20 percent to help the food production sector. It is anticipated that this cut will result in lower production costs and, ultimately, lower retail pricing for flavoured food items.

9. Wet Blue Leather

The government has fully removed import taxes from 10 percent to nil on wet blue leather to boost the leather sector. This action is anticipated to reduce production costs and increase the affordability of leather goods.

To stimulate the maritime sector, customs taxes on shipbuilding components have been reduced. Promoting domestic shipbuilding and lowering manufacturing costs are the goals of this program.

11. Shuttle-less looms

The customs duty on air jet and rapier looms used in the textile sector was lowered from 7.5% to zero per cent.
