Some of the highly rated OTT networks include Netflix, Disney+, YouTube and Amazon Prime Video, with millions of active subscribers around the globe. These platforms include a variety of movies, web series, sports and exclusive content. With the advances in technology and simple accessibility, streaming services have gradually become a widespread phenomenon.

1. Netflix

Founded in 1997 in the United States, Netflix launched its streaming services world in 2007. As of January 2025, Netflix is the most-subscribed video-on-demand streaming service globally with as many as 301.6 million subscribers. Netflix is available in more than 190 countries excluding China, North Korea, Syria and Russia.

2. Amazon Prime Video

3. Disney+

As of September 2024, it has almost 122.7 million subscribers. Disney+ is available in more than 60 countries around North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and Latin America.

4. YouTube

Created in 2005 and owned by Google, YouTube is a free global video-sharing platform. 5. ESPN+

6. Apple TV+

Apple TV+, launched in 2019, is a platform set up by Apple Inc. focusing on original shows in different genres. As of March 2022, It is estimated to have about 50 million subscribers and is available in over 110 countries around the world.

7. Hulu

Hulu is an American OTT platform that offers a combination of live TV, on-demand movies and original programming, launched in 2008. By January 2025, Hulu had approximately 51.1 million subscribers in the United States. 8. Max (formerly HBO Max)

Introduced in 2020, this is an entertainment platform by WarnerMedia. Max combines content from HBO with a vast library of Warner Bros. films and series. As to estimates, in September 2024, it had approximately 100 million subscribers. This platform works for the Americas and parts of Europe (in over 60 countries), with further plans for expansion.

9. Peacock

Peacock, launched by NBCUniversal in 2020, offers a mixed content range of current-season broadcasts, classic shows and original pieces. As of January 2025, it has around 36 million subscribers. Peacock is mainly available in the United States, with some international availability, although it is limited.

10. Paramount+

Paramount+ is a rebranding of ‘CBS All Access’, which made its debut in early 2021, carrying a varied assortment of content from CBS, Paramount Pictures and other ViacomCBS properties. Around 72 million subscribers reportedly used the service in September 2024. The platform operates in 29 countries including America, parts of Europe, and Australia while looking to expand gradually.
