Cynthia Erivo was with Ariana Grande at the Wicked: For Good movie premiere in Singapore when a fan approached her. After the situation involving her and co-star Ariana at their film's November 13 premiere in Singapore, the British actor has now expressed her opinions. Cynthia Erivo emphasised the significance of the film for both viewers and the cast during a special showing at the Television Academy in Los Angeles, according to Entertainment Weekly. For those who don't know, Johnson Wen, a 26-year-old male, leapt the barricade and hurried over to Ariana Grande as the two actors were strolling along the yellow carpet. As per the publication, he wrapped his arms around the singer-actor and started to jump.

Cynthia Erivo said, "What's even more wonderful is the fact that there are other people who have seen themselves in this movie, in that character, and also now see themselves and feel safe And I am so glad that in order to do it, I had to look into the eyes of this person beside me."

Cynthia Erivo added, "And we have come through some shit. We have come through some stuff in our lives, in our daily workings. I mean, f**k, even this last week. Let's be honest, for f**k's sakes, we've had to really deal with some stuff, and this movie has allowed us to really grow as people, as friends, as sisters, as artists, as actresses."

The video from the Singapore premiere left the entire internet shocked. Many expressed anger while others raised questions about women's safety. One of the many users wrote on X (previously Twitter), "I understand why everyone is upset, but I also feel we need clearer boundaries at events like this. Crowds can get chaotic so easily, and safety protocols should be stronger." Another user wrote, "Cynthia was right on it. That’s a solid BFF. I’m sure Ariana has opened up about the trauma of what happened at her concert. No way she’s not always on edge." A third user wrote, "The touching of Ariana Grande was real; you could see the fear, the rejection, the quickness of the action by her companions and bodyguards."

Meanwhile, Ariana Grande discussed the film's emotional core, telling Elle that the follow-up is 'very special and very emotional,' bringing fresh perspectives on forgiveness, love, and personal development. The expectations are high because the story expands the original universe and has two new songs by Stephen Schwartz.

Chu, reunites its stellar cast, which includes Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard, Ariana Grande as Glinda, and Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba. The typical good vs. evil duality will be given a fresh and original twist in the sequel.

Erivo previously stated that the musical delves deeper into human motivations rather than just 'good vs. bad' dichotomies as it continues its investigation of moral complexity. All eyes are on Wicked: For Good following the enormous worldwide success of Wicked: Part One.
