Jimmy Kimmel is returning to his late-night show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, following a controversial suspension. The show had sparked a national debate after Kimmel made on-air comments regarding theories surrounding the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was reportedly shot in Utah. His remarks offended many conservatives, leading to a temporary halt of the show earlier this month. Now, Disney and ABC are bringing back the comedian to the schedule, with the show set to return Tuesday night.

How To Watch Jimmy Kimmel's Show Online?

Jimmy Kimmel Live returns on Tuesday, September 23, airing at 11:35 p.m. PT/ET. It will stream on platforms such as DirecTV, Fubo, Hulu + Live TV and Sling. It will broadcast on the ABC channel.

Since the show airs on ABC, it’s also available on internet-based cable services. The platforms like DirecTV, Fubo and Hulu + Live TV offer free trials, allowing TV viewers to watch for free.

Why Was Jimmy Kimmel Live! Show Suspended?

On the decision to return Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show, a Disney spokesman said in a statement, “Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country. It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive. We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday.”

What Did Jimmy Kimmel Say Live?

During his monologue last Monday, Kimmel made remarks related to the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, which ignited debate and even protests. He said, as quoted by Variety,“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang trying to characterize this kid who killed Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them."

Kimmel also commented on President Trump’s response to a question about mourning Kirk’s death, noting how Trump instead pivoted to discussing the construction of a new White House ballroom.

Kimmel’s return to late-night television offers him a chance to once again enjoy his work. His current contract with ABC is expected to end in 2026, and sources close to the host say he’s been considering stepping down from the role in the near future.
